Using the Learning Feature to Program Your Remote

If the code for your device is not found and the search feature was not able to find the code for your device, then the learning feature may be your best option. The learning feature lets you "learn" functions from your original remote control.

Note:

Learning cannot be initiated until the remote is programmed with a valid code. First setup the button (TV, DVD, or AUX) with any valid code by following steps 1 through 4, then continue with Learning instructions in steps 5 through 10.

  1. Power on the device you want to program and locate the 4-digit set up code using the look-up tool below:
    Find Your Device
    1. While holding the button (TV, DVD, or AUX), press the OK button for one second.
    2. Release both buttons, all of the buttons (TV, DVD, or AUX) will flash then the selected button light will stay lit.
    3. Enter the 4-digit code by pressing the numerical keys (0-9). The selected button light will blink for each digit entry and will remain off after the entry of the fourth digit, indicating a successful setup.

    4. While holding a button (TV, DVD, or AUX) on the Bell MTS remote (MXv3RF), press the LEARN button for one second.
    5. Release both buttons (all three buttons (TV, DVD, AUX) will flash and the selected button light remains on).
    6. On your Bell MTS remote, press and release the button that you want to teach.
    7. While pointing your original remote (e.g. TV remote) at the bottom of your Bell MTS remote, approximately one inch apart, press and hold the original remote (e.g. TV remote) button until the button (TV, DVD, or AUX) light blinks once and stays on. (If there is a learning problem, the button (TV, DVD, or AUX) light blinks for three seconds and stays on. If this happens, repeat steps 7 and 8 above.)
    8. Repeat steps 7 and 8 above for each button you want your Bell MTS Remote Control to learn.
    9. Press and release the LEARN key to save.

If you have encountered difficulties with the LEARN button, please refer to Troubleshooting the Learning Feature of Your Remote.

    Tips

The best practice is to teach only the keys that help you navigate for the best experience, like your volume up and down, channel up and down, and DVR functions. It is not necessary to teach every key.
