Fibe TV app on Apple TV
- What is the Fibe TV app on Apple TV and what do I need to use it?
The Fibe TV app is available for Apple TV, giving you access to your favourite Fibe TV content.
Requirements
- Fibe TV service with a PVR or Satellite TV service.
- 4th generation Apple TV or newer. Ensure your Apple TV software is up to date. Learn how.
- MyAccount registration. Not registered for MyAccount? Learn how.
- Internet speed of 15 Mbps or higher is recommended.
- iTunes account. Set one up.
- HDMI cable (not included).
If you try to watch live Bell MTS TV content when away from home, you will get an error message, even if you're logged in to MyAccount on the Apple TV. You can watch on-demand content on TV devices with any Internet connection.
- Setting up Apple TV and the Fibe TV app for the first time
Step 1 – Setting up Apple TV
If you haven't already set up your Apple TV, follow the instructions on how to complete the installation.
Ensure your Apple TV software is up to date. Learn how.
Step 1 – Installing the Fibe TV app on your Apple TV
- Using your Apple TV remote, navigate to the App Store.
- Search for the "Fibe TV app" and then select Install (on 4th generation Apple TV or higher).
- The Fibe TV app will now appear on the home screen of your Apple TV. Launch it.
- Sign in using your MyAccount username and password. Not registered for MyAccount? Learn how.
- Navigate the different sections
- Touch Home to view featured content.
- Touch Guide to view the programming guide.
- Touch Shows to view on-demand shows.
- Touch Movies to view on-demand movies.
- Touch Recordings to view the shows you recorded and those that are scheduled to be.
- Touch My watchlist to find saved shows, movies and downloads easily.
- Touch the Settings icon to manage everything from favourites to paired devices
- Browse the On Demand catalogue
- The Movies and Shows sections contain on-demand content that is part of your subscriptions as well as content that can be rented or purchased.
- Click on a shortcut at the top of the Movies or Shows sections to easily navigate to different categories.
- To view Channels, click on the shortcut or scroll to the bottom of the section.
- Within the Movies section, click on the Rentals shortcut to rent or purchase available content.
- Select View All to see more content within that category.
- Filter the guide
- Using the remote's touchpad, navigate to the main menu at the top and select Settings.
- Using the remote's touchpad, scroll down and select Guide Filters.
- Select and click on the desired filters. The checkmark indicates which filters have been applied.
- Press Menu on the remote to return to the Settings page.
- Turn on closed captioning and described video
- Select Settings from the main navigation menu at the top.
- Using the remote's touchpad, scroll down to the Accessibility section.
- Select either Closed Captions or Descriptive Video and click the touchpad to apply the desired setting.
- To remove the setting, click the touchpad again.
- Use the My watchlist feature to watch On Demand content later
- From the Home, Movies or Shows sections, select the show or movie you want to add to your watchlist.
- Select My watchlist and click the remote's touchpad to add it.
- To remove it, click My watchlist again.
- To view your watchlist, click the My watchlist section.
- Set the video streaming quality
- Select Settings from the main navigation menu at the top.
- Using the remote's touchpad, scroll down to the Streaming section.
- Select the desired quality by clicking the touchpad.
- Use the parental controls
- Select Settings from the main navigation menu at the top.
- Using the remote's touchpad, scroll down to the Parental Controls section.
- Select either Canadian Classifications or Parental Advisories.
- Select the rating(s) that you want to block.
- Enter your password and click Modify
- Select the rating(s) that you want to block. A checkmark indicates which filters have been applied.
- Press Menu on the remote to return to the Settings page.
- Troubleshooting the Fibe TV app on Apple TV
The steps below can help you when you experience the following issues:
- Cannot watch live content
- App is frozen or not working
Steps to follow:
- First, ensure that your Apple TV is connected to your Bell MTS Wi-Fi and that your Wi-Fi is working. If you are experiencing issues with Wi-Fi, restart your modem to see if it resolves the issue.
- If the issue persists, then close the app completely by double clicking the TV icon on your remote and swiping your finger up on the remote's touchpad.
- If the issue still persists, then restart your Apple TV.
