Call Answer features

A Call Answer subscription includes these valuable features:

Message waiting light

The Message Waiting Light will activate a light on compatible telephone sets to indicate you have messages.

Note:

After retrieving your messages, please ensure you exit your mailbox by using * if you have the Message Waiting Light. This will ensure the Message Waiting Light will turn off.

Call monitor

Listen to callers while they are leaving a message in your voice mail. You can even intercept the call.

To use call monitor:

  • A short ring alerts you when a call has been transferred to your mailbox.
  • To find out who's calling, pick up the receiver and press *95 to listen to the call without being heard.
  • During the monitoring of a call, you can choose to hang up or speak to the caller.
  • Press the receiver disconnect or link button to speak to the caller.
  • Call Monitor must be activated within 20 seconds of the call being forwarded to your mailbox.
Ring control

Control the number of rings callers will hear before they are connected to your Call Answer service.

To use ring control:

  • Pick up the receiver and press *94.
  • Enter the number of rings desired. You may choose between 0 and 9 rings. Some areas may only choose between 1 and 9 rings.
  • A confirmation tone will let you know the change has been accepted.
Busy line

Choose whether a caller is sent to your mailbox or hears a busy signal when the line is busy.

To have callers get a busy signal:

  • Pick up the receiver and press *91.
  • A confirmation tone will let you know the change has been made.

To direct callers to your mailbox when the line is busy:

  • Pick up the receiver and press *90.
  • A confirmation tone will let you know the change has been made.

Note

Customer must subscribe to Call Answer with Call Forward Busy to use this feature.

Ring no answer on/off

Choose whether a call is sent to your mailbox or unanswered.

To have calls remain unanswered:

  • Pick up the receiver and press *93.
  • A confirmation tone will let you know the change has been made.

To have calls forwarded to your mailbox:

  • Pick up the receiver and press *92.
  • A confirmation tone will let you know the change has been made.
